Frequently asked questions
How does the Trust Badge system work?
Badges are progressive and verified. Bronze is awarded when you complete your profile and list your first dish with nutrition data. Silver requires photos on 100% of your dishes. Gold requires an on-site audit by a DietDash-certified nutritionist.
Do I need technical knowledge to use DietDash?
No. DietDash is intuitive and guided. You add your dishes with ingredients and weights, and the system integrates with OpenFoodFacts to calculate all macronutrients automatically.
How do orders reach my kitchen?
You receive real-time notifications on the web dashboard and mobile app. Each order details the customer, the dishes, total macros, and the expected delivery time.
Who handles delivery — you or my kitchen?
Your kitchen delivers. The customer pays a delivery fee — €3.99 + €0.90/km by default, or a flat fee you set yourself (including free) — and that fee is yours. Our commission applies to the food value only, never to delivery.
I cook from home — can I join?
Yes, as long as you're a registered food operator. Under EU law (Regulation 852/2004), any food business — home kitchens included — must register the establishment with the national authority (DGAV in Portugal) and follow hygiene (HACCP) practices. Your DietDash profile asks for exactly that: tax ID and address.
Do I need a registered company?
You need to be a registered operator with a Portuguese NIF — a sole trader (empresário em nome individual) is enough; you don't need to open a company. The profile requires NIF and address, which is also the first gate of the Bronze badge.
How much is the commission per order?
Bronze 15%, Silver 12%, Gold 10% — charged only on completed orders, on the food value. Delivery apps charge 20–30%. Founding kitchens in Lisboa and Porto pay a flat 10% for the first 6 months, with no subscription.
Can I cancel or change my plan at any time?
Yes. No minimum commitment. You can cancel, upgrade, or downgrade at any time, without penalties or additional fees.
Is there a DietDash app for end consumers?
Yes — the consumer app opens with the launch in Lisboa and Porto. Diners filter dishes by precise macros, view Trust Badges, and place orders. Join the waitlist to get access first.
Is DietDash GDPR compliant?
Yes. DietDash is built to meet GDPR obligations, with data portability and deletion available on request.
